Chennai: The suicide of a college student in his hostel room in Kanchipuram district has kicked off a controversy with the victim’s family blaming the college management for his death.

A third year engineering student, Arvind Rajendran (20) was found hanging in his hostel room yesterday.

He was studying in a private college. Police sent his body for postmortem to Chengalpet Government Hospital.

His family members have filed a complaint alleging that there was some mystery surrounding his death as they claimed he would not take such an extreme step. Kanchipuram police are inquiring the case.
