Chennai: At the AIADMK Amma Peravai meeting presided over by State Revenue Minister R B Udhayakumar, it was unanimously decided that they would request the authorities to name the upcoming All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Madurai after late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
Addressing the media, Udhayakumar thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the establishment of AIIMS facility in Madurai.
Recently, the Centre gave its consent for setting-up a facility in Tamilnadu and Telangana in about 45 months at a cost of Rs 1,264 crore and Rs 1,258 crore respectively. Several political leaders thanked the Centre for the move.
