Chennai: Two Students from the Velammal main school, Mugappair, won gold and bronze medals in the National Chess Tournament, organised by SGFI Dadra and Nagar, Haveli in Mumbai, held recently.

The students were Nikhil Magizhan Std VIi and C Tina of Std VIII, representing the state side in the Under-14 category.

Nikhil won the gold medal by securing 6 out of 6 points while Tina secured 5 out of 6 points and clinched the bronze.
