Chennai: Former DMK councillor of Guduvanchery was brutally hacked to death by a four-member gang yesterday evening. According to police, Mohan was riding his two-wheeler at Perumattunallur when four men on two bikes came from behind and attacked him using knives and sickles.

Even as Mohan tried to escape from the spot, they chased and blocked him on the road and attacked him again. Police said after brutally attacking him, the assailants fled the scene. He died on the spot. Police Inspector Shiva Shankar sent his body to Chengalpattu Government

Hospital for post mortem. Police said rivalry in real estate business was the motive behind the murder. A search for the four men is underway.
