Pudukottai: MDMK general secretary Vaiko today said it is upto DMK president M K Stalin to decide whether the parties are in alliance or not.
He made the statement when asked about DMK treasurer Duraimurugan’s recent comment about alliance parties.
Speaking to mediapersons at Pudukottai today before leaving to visit the Gaja cyclone affected areas, Vaiko said MDMK cadres are disappointed and hurt by Duraimurugan’s comment.
Meanwhile, the DMK in a statement today said the party will support Vaiko’s protest outside the Raj Bhavan demanding the release of the seven convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination case. Stalin wrote a letter to Vaiko in this regard. The protest is planned to be held on 3 December.
Tamilisai warns AIADMK Ministers
BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan said AIADMK Ministers should be cautious about the praises heaped on them by Vaiko.
She tweeted that though the work of the Ministers is an appreciable one, it has come at a time when Vaiko has been hurt by the speech of Duraimurugan.
What Duraimurgan said?
Speaking about the DMK’s alliance parties in a recent interview, Duraimurugan said those who are in alliance with the party now may leave at the last minute. “Those who are opposing the DMK now might join hands with us later. As far as MDMK and VCK are concerned, we are in ‘friendly’ terms with them,” he said.
