Nrithyaksethra’s dance festival in Chennai

Nrithyaksethra Dance Academy will organise a three-day festival ‘Dhimahi’ from 23 to 25 November at Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Maharajapuram Santhanam Salai.

A press release said the theme ‘Dhimahi’ implies dynamic meditations on laya which bring five creative and wholesome bharatanatyam margams created, composed and choreographed by Madurai R Muralidharan in five unique talas.

The festival features full length margams to be performed by students mentored by Muralidharan along with short presentation by guest artistes, the release added.

Kavya Muralidharan, Varshini Arumugam, Rashmeta Sai, Adithi and Ananya Venkatesan, Saankhya Venkateshwaran and Vrithi Arvind will perform and the festival will also witness short performances by guest artistes like Jayakrishnan, Lavanya Sankar, Parvathi Ravi Ghantasala, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Srekala Bharath and Uma Murali. Seasoned danceuse Shobana, Anitha Guha and vocalist Neyveli Santhanagopalan will be the guests of honour on the occasion.

Highlighting the feature of the festival, Madurai R Muralidharan, who has composed songs for over 20 years, said, “our festival is unique and artistes will perform in five different talas.”
