Chennai: India Open Day organised by University Of New South Wales (UNSW) for students who are looking to advance their career will be held in Chennai’s Taj Coromandel on 20 November, from 2pm to 5pm and attended by over forty representatives from the university.
University of New South Wales, India Country director Amit Dasgupta said, “Our practical, hands-on approach to education results in our students developing a holistic and praxis-oriented understanding.”
According to a report by the University of New South Wales (UNSW), 16.26 per cent of all engineering applications from India, came from Chennai, superseding the likes of other major metropolises like Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune by a significant margin.
“Furthermore, streams like business studies and built environment also remain extremely popular among the citys youth, with application numbers surpassing those witnessed in past years,” the report said.
It further said while engineering has always been a popular stream in Chennai due to the strong automobile and software sectors, the new interest in Business and in Built Environment is the result of the citys booming economy, the entry of prominent financial institutes and the state governments strong focus on introducing smart technology to build future cities.
These developments have led to an enormous demand for professionals with strong aptitude in engineering/business studies/architecture backgrounds. The event will feature a ‘Gamefied Aptitude Test’ that will help students determine what career path to take based on a series of games and visuals designed to highlight your interests.
Registration is required to take part in the event.
