Chennai: Chennai-based Brainobrain Kids Academy has entered Guinness World Records displaying its might with largest-ever mental arithmetic session.

The event held recently in the city saw participation of as many as 3,189 children from the academy’s centres spread across the country, a press release said.

With this achievement, the academy has set a new record outdoing the previous Guinness record of 1,073 participants set by China.

The 40-minutes endeavour exposed children between 4 to 14 years to swift computing abilities. Starting from single digits to triple digit numbers ranging from five rows to 20 rows of addition and subtraction along with multiplication were performed by children with great speed and accuracy.

The five minutes test at the end of the session proved the students’ superfast learning and computing abilities outdoing the calculators, the release said.
