R. Madhavan is set to portray engineer Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu in the upcoming biopic GDN. The film has recently entered its second production schedule in India. Madhavan shared the update on his Instagram Stories, featuring a poster of the film with the message, “Seeking all prayers as we gear up for our second Indian schedule.” The project is directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, known for the Rudra-Mithila Palkar starrer Oho Enthan Baby, who has also penned the screenplay. The cast includes Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, and Yogi Babu among others. The film is produced by Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan under Varghese’s banner, in collaboration with Madhavan and his wife Sarita of Tricolour Films. This marks the second collaboration of the four producers after the critically acclaimed Nambi Narayanan biopic Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Production initially began at an international location before the first schedule in India earlier this year. The technical team of GDN features Aravind Kamalanathan as creative producer and cinematographer, with music composed by Govind Vasantha. Speaking to CE, producer Vijay highlighted the significance of Naidu’s story: “GD Naidu’s personality was incredibly inspiring—his resilience, his firm beliefs, and his unwavering stance on his decisions. He was staunchly against bribery, deeply patriotic, and a man of immense strength. He never wavered, never budged, and stood his ground no matter what. His sheer presence was remarkable. It’s not just about the life he led but the kind of person he was—truly unique.”
