The Madras High Court has ordered that the murder case of BSP state leader K. Armstrong be transferred from the Greater Chennai Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).Armstrong was brutally killed on July 5, 2024, near his home in Perambur, Chennai. Police have so far arrested 27 people in connection with the crime.
His brother, K. Immanuvel, filed a petition in court stating that the city police had failed to handle the case properly. The court accepted his argument and pointed out major lapses in the probe.
Justice P. Velmurugan directed that all files, evidence, and related materials be handed over to the CBI immediately. He further ordered the agency to complete the investigation and submit a chargesheet within six months.
