New Delhi, Sept 9: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday urged for fair and transparent global economic practices. He said such practices should benefit all countries, especially during times of trade disruptions.
Jaishankar was speaking at a virtual Brics meeting, representing India in place of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stressed the importance of building stronger and more reliable supply chains.
“It is imperative that economic practices are fair, transparent and to everyone’s benefit. When there are disruptions, our goal should be to make supply chains more resilient, reliable and shorter,” Jaishankar said.
His remarks came at a time when former US President Donald Trump has threatened tariffs, raising concerns for global trade.
