Karthi to star in period adventure ‘Marshal’ set in 1960s Rameswaram

Actor Karthi, known for his recent films Va Vaathiyar and Sardar 2, is now gearing up for his 29th Tamil film, Marshal, directed by the team behind Dhanaakkaran. The movie is being produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, with music composed by Sai Abhyankar. Marshal is set against the backdrop of 1960s Rameswaram and revolves around a thrilling sea piracy adventure.
Malayalam actress Kalyani Priyadarshan plays the female lead, while veteran actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, Eeswari Rao, and John Kokken are cast in key roles. The film had initially approached Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly for the villain’s role, but he declined the offer.
According to sources, the filmmakers are now in talks with actor Jeeva to take on the antagonist’s role. Fans are eagerly anticipating this period adventure, which promises a mix of action, drama, and a nostalgic setting
