Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated newly constructed guest houses at the renowned Tiruchendur Murugan Temple in Thoothukudi district.
These guest houses have been built to provide comfortable and convenient accommodation for pilgrims and visitors to the temple, which is one of the six sacred abodes (Arupadai Veedu) of Lord Murugan. The initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and facilities at major religious sites across the state.
Equipped with modern amenities, the guest houses aim to improve the overall pilgrimage experience, especially during festive seasons when the temple sees a large influx of devotees.
Senior government officials and representatives from the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department were present during the inauguration. The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s commitment to promoting spiritual tourism and strengthening amenities for temple visitors across Tamil Nadu.
The new guest houses at Tiruchendur are expected to significantly benefit thousands of pilgrims who visit the temple throughout the year.
