Tamilnadu BJP chief BJP Nainar Nagendran has responded cautiously to speculation about actor Vijay’s political entry and the possibility of alliances being formed around him.
Speaking to the media, Nainar Nagendran said, “Vijay has announced that he will contest in the 2026 Assembly elections. It is his right in a democratic country. As for whether parties will align with him or not, we will have to wait and see.”
His comments come amid increasing buzz over actor Vijay’s newly formed political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and its plans to contest the upcoming elections. Political analysts have been speculating on possible alliances involving Vijay’s party, especially after the BJP’s recent moves to widen its alliance base in Tamil Nadu.
Nainar Nagendran, however, refrained from confirming or denying any potential tie-up, choosing instead to maintain a diplomatic stance by reiterating that only time will reveal how the political landscape evolves.
This measured response reflects the BJP’s current approach of keeping doors open while assessing Vijay’s political strategy and public reception.
