Ajithkumar Custodial Death: Stalin Orders for CBI Probe

The Tamil Nadu government has transferred the investigation into Ajithkumar’s custodial death in Sivaganga district to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The move was announced by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
The state has promised full support to the central agency.
Ajithkumar was taken to Thiruppuvanam police station in Sivaganga district on June 28 for questioning. He died later under suspicious circumstances.
CM Stalin expressed deep sorrow over the incident. In an official statement, he said, “I was shocked to learn that police assault caused his death. It is a cruel and unacceptable act.”
The case has drawn wide public and political attention, leading to calls for justice and transparency.
