In a recent press interaction in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu BJP State President Nainar Nagendran raised concerns over the whereabouts of Akash and Rithish, associates of Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, in connection with the ongoing TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation) raid investigations.Nagendran questioned, “If there is no fear of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), why have Akash and Rithish fled?” He highlighted that while some reports suggest they have traveled to London, others claim they are still in India. The BJP leader emphasized that the ED has expressed interest in questioning these individuals to uncover more details about the alleged TASMAC corruption.
Furthermore, Nagendran referred to Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s previous statements, where he asserted that the DMK is not afraid of the ED. Nagendran contrasted this with past instances, recalling that during the 2011 elections, ED raids were ongoing even as negotiations were taking place. He questioned the necessity for Akash and Rithish to leave the country if there was truly no apprehension regarding the ED’s actions.
Nagendran’s remarks come amidst heightened political tensions in Tamil Nadu, with opposition parties scrutinizing the ruling DMK’s handling of the TASMAC operations and associated investigations.
