The second phase of the Parliament Budget Session will commence today and continue until April 4.
The first phase of the session was held from January 31 to February 13. In this session, the opposition is expected to raise key issues, including the Manipur violence and India’s handling by the Trump administration. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) is set to question voter ID-related concerns, while Tamil Nadu parties may bring up the National Education Policy and the proposed Delimitation exercise.
With President’s Rule in place in Manipur, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the state’s budget for approval. The Centre will also seek Parliament’s approval for various financial allocations.
Given the crucial issues at stake, the session is expected to be highly eventful and intense.
