In a composed response to the public and opposition’s comments, Tamil Nadu’s newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, stated that he welcomes criticism and will use it as motivation to improve his work.

Speaking after his appointment by Chief Minister MK Stalin, Udhayanidhi said, “The Chief Minister has entrusted me with the responsibility of Deputy Chief Minister, and I thank him for it. This is not just a position, but an additional responsibility. It is an opportunity for me to work even harder for the people.” He made these remarks after paying tribute at the memorials of former Chief Ministers Annadurai and Karunanidhi.

Udhayanidhi acknowledged both the congratulations and criticisms that have come his way since his appointment. “Many have conveyed their wishes, and I thank them. Many have also criticized, and I thank them as well. I welcome all criticisms. Just as I accept well-wishes, I will also embrace criticism and use it to correct my mistakes,” he said.

Reflecting on his earlier roles, Udhayanidhi noted that he faced criticism when he was appointed as the Secretary of the DMK’s Youth Wing and again when he was made a minister. “The only way to justify my appointments is through my work,” he stated, emphasizing that his actions will speak louder than words.

He also expressed confidence that his work will improve further under the guidance of the Chief Minister and senior ministers. “In line with the guidance of the Chief Minister and senior ministers, my work will be more efficient. I will structure my responsibilities in such a way that it responds to criticism and achieves better outcomes,” Udhayanidhi concluded.

This statement from the Deputy Chief Minister reflects his willingness to engage with public opinion and his determination to prove himself through diligent service.
