Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje has submitted a petition in the Madras High Court, apologizing to the people of Tamil Nadu for her remarks against Tamils. The incident stems from a bomb blast at the ‘Rameshwaram Café’ in Bengaluru in March. Following the blast, Karandlaje, a minister from Karnataka, allegedly stated that those trained in Tamil Nadu were planting bombs in Karnataka. This remark led to a complaint filed by a Madurai resident, Thiagarajan, resulting in the Madurai City Police registering a case against her under four sections, including incitement of violence.Karandlaje then filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking to quash the case. During the hearing, the Tamil Nadu government’s counsel suggested that if the minister held a press conference and apologized for her comments against Tamils, the matter could be resolved amicably.
In her petition, Shobha Karandlaje expressed her apology to the people of Tamil Nadu for her remarks, seeking their forgiveness for any offense caused.
