Ashok Selvan, a prominent figure in Tamil cinema known for his discerning story choices, was notably absent at the audio launch of his upcoming film, Emakku Thozhil Romance, held in Chennai. The actor’s absence drew significant criticism from the producer and chief guests at the event.
Thirumalai, the producer of Emakku Thozhil Romance, expressed his frustration over Ashok Selvan’s lack of participation, which he claimed caused delays in the film’s production. Thirumalai criticized Selvan for not cooperating with the team despite being paid a substantial salary of Rs 31 lakh. He lamented that the actor had failed to confirm his availability for the audio launch over the past 50 days, questioning why Selvan could not spare two hours to promote the film.
During the event, Thirumalai highlighted the disparity between actors who respect their producers and those who do not. He drew comparisons with industry veterans like Rajinikanth, Vijay, and Dhanush, praising them for their commitment to promoting their films. Thirumalai also urged the producer council to implement stricter measures to ensure that lead actors fulfill their promotional duties.
As the release date for Emakku Thozhil Romance approaches, the film’s team hopes to resolve these issues and focus on a successful launch.
