Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has expressed strong disapproval of the Karnataka government’s refusal to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. In a statement issued on Monday, Stalin condemned Karnataka’s stance and announced a meeting of legislative party leaders, led by Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan, scheduled for Tuesday to discuss the state’s response and steps to secure its rightful share of water.
Chief Minister Stalin criticized Karnataka’s refusal to release Cauvery water, calling it an action detrimental to the welfare of Tamil Nadu’s farmers. “The Karnataka government’s statement that it cannot release water is condemnable. The Tamil Nadu government will never accept such actions that would affect the welfare of the farmers,” Stalin stated.
Stalin emphasized the importance of a consultative approach to address the issue. The meeting at the secretariat will involve consultations with legislative party leaders and legal experts to gather opinions and formulate a strategy.
