In a significant move aimed at streamlining processes and enhancing convenience for citizens, the Tamil Nadu government has announced that all motor vehicle-related documents, including driving licenses and vehicle registration certificates, will now be dispatched exclusively through speed-post services. This initiative marks a pivotal shift towards digitization and efficient service delivery in the state’s transport sector.

Under the new guidelines, individuals seeking to obtain or renew their driving licenses can conveniently apply online via the Vahan or Sarathy portal. Upon successful completion of the application process and the requisite tests conducted at designated Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), applicants will receive their Smart Card driving licenses via speed-post on the same day.

This streamlined approach eliminates the need for individuals to physically visit government offices or rely on intermediaries to collect their motor vehicle documents. By leveraging technology and postal services, the Tamil Nadu government aims to simplify the document issuance process and enhance accessibility for citizens across the state.
