Chennai, Nov 20: On a vibrant Sunday, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) marked its 99th foundation year with a series of route marches spanning 55 locations throughout Tamil Nadu. The occasion was not only a tribute to the organization’s legacy but also a celebration of the 200th birth anniversary of Saint Ramalinga Swamigal (Vallalar), echoing the spirit of nationalistic ideals propagated by Swami Vivekananda and B.R. Ambedkar.

In a display of unity and patriotic fervor, rallies unfolded in key regions such as Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Sivaganga, and The Nilgiris. The collaboration with local law enforcement ensured the smooth conduct of these events, emphasizing the commitment to safety and order.

One of the highlights of the day was the RSS rally held at Chromepet in Chennai, where MoS L Murugan graced the occasion as a special guest. Murugan’s presence underscored the significance of the event, linking the ideals of the RSS with the broader framework of national development.

The route marches served not only as a commemoration but also as a reflection of the enduring values that have shaped the RSS over nearly a century. The inclusion of Saint Ramalinga Swamigal’s birth anniversary added a spiritual dimension to the festivities, emphasizing the harmonious blend of cultural and nationalistic elements.
