DMK Member of Parliament A Raja addressed the ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), asserting that no new evidence has been uncovered against him. The remarks were made during an oratorical contest held as part of the Kalaignar Centenary celebrations at a private college in Coimbatore. Raja responded to the ED’s recent actions, which included freezing his immovable properties.When questioned about his legal response to the ED’s actions, the Nilgiris MP expressed his unwavering resolve and stated that he would not be intimidated by the investigation. This declaration underscores his confidence in the face of the ongoing probe.
Raja also took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, stating that Tamil Nadu had ensured power supply to all villages well before 1975, long before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent claim of providing power connections to 75,000 villages after 75 years of Independence.
Moreover, A Raja encouraged students to consider participating in politics, citing his own college days when debate contests were typically held in arts colleges, serving as a stepping stone to a career in politics. He advocated for the expansion of such debate contests to encompass students pursuing engineering and medical studies, emphasizing the importance of involving youth in the political discourse.
