Chennai: Kanchi Sankaracharya Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal spoke about Dharma and the need to preserve Dharma and culture.

He was addressing people at KRS Convention Centre in Bellary as part of his tour. Stressing on the need for every individual to perform Swadharma, he spoke on various initiatives of the Peetam which help in inculcating such values.

He recalled visits of Kanchi Acharyas to Karnataka and Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal’s initiative in impressing upon the then government of Karnataka to support the cause of Vedas.

Earlier, he visited Bellary Lakshminarayana Swamy temple where a reception was held. He then left Bellary and reached Sandur. He was received at the Shiva temple by Ghorpade Royal family.
