Director Susienthran’s Veerapandiyapuram starring Jai and Meenakshi Govindarajan in lead roles is an intense action drama of friendship, deceit and revenge.
Jai besides playing the lead dons music composer’s hat too. It is the story of two villages where the honchos fight against each other. They bay for each other’s blood. Steps in Jai as a man with a mission. He has other plans. Will he accomplish it forms the crux.
Jai plays an angry young man who is both brainy and brawny. He is initially shown as a timid youngster who shoes away from controversies. As the movie unfolds,it is shown he has other plans. He romances, tries his hand at comedy with Bala Saravanan and flexes his muscle too.
Meenakshi Govindarajan is a welcome addition. She emotes well. Bala Saravanan does a good act. Kali Venkatesh, Harish Uthaman, and Jayaprakash, are adequate.
The music ispassable with catchy melodies by Jai. Camera work is bright and beautiful.
The story line may be predictable, the treatment by the director is good.
Produced by Aishwarya for Lendi Films, Veerapandiyapuram is a decent watch.
