In a bid to address how people affected by mental or neurological disorders go about their lives, the Baltazar Theatre since 1998, a professional theatre company in Budapest has created a platform for disabled people to express their talent and to ensure that social judgment on mentally disabled people change. Its actors are living with mental disability. They try to break new ground by putting actors’ disabilities in the background emphasizing their talent.
Their latest documentary, ‘Lend me your eyes, Baltazars’ records their journey to Tamilnadu. The film lets us see faith through the filter of art and monitor how the mentally challenged artists of the Hungarian theatre embrace spirituality of India. With support from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the film has been dubbed in Tamil and Hindi.
