Garbage menace, damaged pavements irk Rangarajapuram residents

Rangarajapuram Main Road is plagued with a string of civic issues, all of which have left pedestrians and motorists worried. For instance, at the space that connects with Aziz Nagar Main Road and Corporation Colony Main Road, one is bound to witness a severely damaged section of a short pavement, that has gaping holes.

Residents here allege that the condition of this pavement has been the same for the past two months, and that since garbage is dumped here regularly, it has also become a breeding spot for mosquitoes. “If they repair the damaged part, people will stop throwing trash here,” says Suresh, a resident.

Also, another concern here is that the waste at times is dumped right opposite an educational institution here. “I always find students standing near the dumped garbage, after the school closes for the day,” says a shopkeeper nearby. “They find it difficult to walk freely, due to this,” he notes.

Adding to his opinion, Suresh also commented, “If the authorities arrange for the trash to be disposed regularly, the garbage bins here won’t be flowing over, and if the pavements are set right, pedestrians too won’t have any hassles.”
