‘Gangs of Madras’ is inspired by a real-life incident, says filmmaker C V Kumar. CV Kumar, who produced films including Pizza and Soodhu Kavvum, took to directuon with a sci-fi thriller Maayavan.
He is back to wield the megaphone with Gangs of Madras. The movie stars Daniel Balaji, Ashok, Velu Prabhakaran, Aadukalam Naren, Bhagavathi Perumal and director Ramadoss. Priyanka Ruth plays the heroine and music is by Santosh Narayanan.
Speaking about the film, C V Kumar, says, “A real life incident inspired me to come out with the movie. It is a revenge drama from a woman’s perspective. Priyanka Ruth is a wonderful talent. She even did actions scenes with a body double.”
Shot predominantly in North Chennai, the movie has lots of emotions. The movie has shaped up well, he says and adds, “Santosh Narayanan has done a wonderful job. After I cut the teaser, I asked him if he could do the rerecording for it. He immediately agreed and was so impressed with the making and style and asked who is doing the music. And he evinced interest to do the background score.”
