Tirupati: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) yesterday donated Rs 1.11 crore to Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala.

After offering prayers at the holy shrine, RIL executive director PMS Prasad who represented the company handed over a demand draft for the sum to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanom (TTD). The offering was given to help the poor suffering from life-threatening ailments.

According to media reports, the donation would be used to provide free medical facilities at the temple-run super specialty hospital for those with life-threatening diseases.

It is to be noted that the company had last year also donated Rs 1.11 crore for the same cause.
