Bengaluru: A day after George Fernandes passed away, Koshys Mechanised Bakery revealed that during his tenure, the former defence minister ordered plum cakes from the popular Koshys bakery and sent it to jawans posted at the border.

According to reports, Prem Koshy, Koshys head, said for some years, he used to order cakes from them and send it to jawans.

Fernandes used to like the smell of bakery and found this place peaceful and calm, Prem said. He further added that there were quite a lot of memories about his visit and that even his family used to buy from them.

The former defence minister died yesterday after prolonged illness.
