Justice Arumughaswamy Commission probing the circumstances which led to the demise of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has summoned London-based doctor Richard Beale to depose on 9 January.
Dr Beale was among the specialists who treated Jayalalithaa when she was hospitalised for 75 days.
Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambi Dhurai has been asked to appear before the commission on 11 January.
Similarly, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Health Minister C Vijaya Baskar who were supposed to appear before the penal on 20 and 18 December, respectively, have now been asked to appear on 7 January and the next day.
The Commission has so far questioned more than 140 people, including doctors from Apollo and AIIMS who treated Jayalalithaa. Some of them were cross-examined by V K Sasikala’s counsel.
