
Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today chaired a Cabinet meeting during which various important issues such as Sterlite plant row, Mekedatu and non-receipt of Central assistance for restoration works in Cyclone Gaja-affected areas were taken up for discussion.
The meet was convened at a time when there is a strong demand urging the government to take a policy decision to close down the Sterlite plant in Thoothukudi permanently. It is also said important aspects that should be part of the Governor’s speech when the Assembly is convened in January was taken up for discussion.
