Producers Council holds emergency meet

Chennai: Following protest by a section of producers, who even locked the office of Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) recently, the honchos of the association led by its president Vishal will hold an emergency meeting later today to discuss the issue.

The disgruntled producers alleging financial irregularities locked the doors of producers council office in T Nagar on Thursday and when Vishal tried to forcibly open it, he was arrested by the police and later freed in the evening. He filed a petition in the Madras High Court, which ordered to open the office immediately.

Amidst the situation, the TFPC is holding a meting today. Sources say vice-presidents Prakashraj, Gautham Vasudev Menon and key members of the council will attend the meet.

The office-bearers are contemplating action on those who locked the office. Also the meeting will discuss on conducting ‘Isayaraja 75’, a mega music show to honour veteran music composer Ilayaraja in Chennai on 2 and 3 February, 2019.
