CM gives appointment orders to 6,119 policemen

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami releasing a book – ‘Tamilnadu Police The Gallant Heroes’ at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai today.

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami addressed the State policemen at Kalaivanar Arangam, Wallajah Road this morning and gave appointment orders to 6,119 personnel selected under Tamilnadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB).

He also released a book titled ‘Tamilnadu Police Gallant Heroes‘.

Director General of Police T K Rajendran and other high ranking officers were present at the event.
According to a press release, the Chief Minister appreciated the work by the department and encouraged them to work more responsibly.

He asked them to do yoga, exercise and be fit physically and mentally. He also addressed the fire department, the uniformed services and prison wardens to work with commitment.

The Chief Minister said, “Police personnel should be like the tongue which functions between the teeth, just like how it is caught between 32 teeth but gets work done. Like how the army protects the border and the people, Tamilnadu police must protect the State.”

He said that in 2011, around 1,112 Sub Inspectors were given appointments, apart from recruiting 32,905 Secondary Grade Inspectors.

In 2014, the department gave appointments to 9,140 Special Police Youth Brigade of which 8,569 were later appointed as Secondary Grade Sub Inspectors.

The Chief Minister also spoke about various world leaders to boost the spirit of the police men.
