Actor Siddharth, who has always been socially-conscious and active, is one of the very few male Tamil actors who openly supported Chinmayi after she alleged that national award-winning lyricist Vairamuthu invited her to his hotel room and also tried to threaten her with his power.

On Monday, a video of character actor Marimuthu supporting Vairamuthu went viral on the Internet but most Tamil actors did not condemn him. In the video, Marimuthu said, “What’s wrong in it? He is a man who has hormones and it is quite natural for him to be with a girl. I do not think this allegation would affect Vairamuthu in any way. In another three months, a new issue will go viral and we will forget this one.”

Lashing out at Marimuthu, Siddharth tweeted, “Indha asingam pudichavar #PariyerumPerumal la kettavana nalla nadichaarnnu nenachen. Avanedhaana nee? Chi!”  (I thought this ugly fellow superbly acted as the baddie in Pariyerum Perumal but he himself is one such baddie in real life).
