Chennai: “Santro isn’t a product but an emotion. The moment we started the online booking, we bagged a record 23,000 bookings. This is the first time India where people have booked a car like this without even a clue as to how the car will look like or its specifications,” said regional sales head, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Ashok Yadav.

He said this during the launch of Hyundai’s all new Santro at the Ekkaduthangal showroom here on Wednesday.

“Of the 23,000 bookings we have received throughout the country, over 2,000 are from Chennai alone. This overwhelming response is not only because of the car but also because of all the financiers who willingly came forward with attractive offers like 100 per cent on-road funding, zero processing fee and very low interest rates,” he added.

KK Nagar, Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Bhaskar was the chief guest for the function.

The Santro’s prices start from Rs 4.61 lakh to Rs 6.39 lakh (all prices on-road Chennai). There are a total of seven variants on offer namely D Lite, Era, Magna, Sportz, Asta, Magna AMT, and Sportz AMT.
