The Madras High Court today questioned the delay over Tamilnadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit taking a decision on the release of seven convicts in former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

In his appeal to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, the Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, today expressed his concern and requested the State government to delay the reopening of schools and colleges, until the government declares zero Covid-19 cases in the State.

Gold prices in India have hit a fresh record high today. In Chennai, the price of 22-carat gold climbed marginally to Rs 47,100 while the price of 24-carat gold price in Chennai was at Rs 51,380. Similarly one gram of silver was sold for Rs 65.70.
